Scottish ClubSport will highlight opportunities available from members and partners on this page and that promote the following areas;

  • Increasing the diversity of volunteers. This is a key ambition nationally and locally. 
  • Introducing new skills and people to the club and sport environment. It is important to diversify knowledge and experience.

Scottish ClubSport is recruiting a Young Person (aged 16-25) to become part of their Board of Directors.

1 x Young Person – must come from a Sports Council/ClubSport network that is affiliated and a full member of Scottish ClubSport or be prepared to join a Sports Council/ClubSport network upon selection. This includes local member sports and community clubs and individuals of that Sports Council/ClubSport network. Please note that two members of the same Sports Council/ClubSport network cannot serve on the SCS Board at one time unless one is willing to act in an individual capacity as Independent Director. This post will be appointed on a 2-year term. 

What will you do?

  • Work with the National Development Manager to identify topics/projects that you would like to deliver and support
  • Represent the voice of young people in sport and the community and provide support and guidance to the board on behalf of SCS members
  • Attend and contribute to Board Meetings and Sub-Group Meetings
  • Support the delivery of our annual conference
  • Support the online delivery of our quarterly member check in events

Scottish ClubSport is recruiting a Local Councillor to become part of their Board of Directors. 

1 x Local Councillor – must come from a Sports Council/ClubSport network that is affiliated, and a full member of, Scottish ClubSport or be prepared to join a Sports Council/ClubSport network upon selection. This includes local member clubs/individuals of that Sports Council/ClubSport network. This post will be appointed on a 2-year term.

The main purpose of this role is to:

  • Support the creation of a small working group that will focus on Advocacy i.e working with Councillors and Local Leaders
  • Support Scottish ClubSport with sharing best practice for engaging local councillors
  • Support the creation of resources to be shared with Local Sports Councils and ClubSport networks

Scottish ClubSport is recruiting a Finance Director to become part of their Board of Directors.

Role Purpose

  • To oversee finance functions of the company and be responsible for the flow of financial information to the Board and, where necessary, external parties such as investors or financial institutions.
  • To ensure that the Board fulfils its governance and leadership responsibilities and assists staff to achieve overall strategic and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial planning, budgets and related ongoing advice for staff and the Board.
  • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters.
  • Managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt & taxation.
  • Equity and acquisitions, as appropriate.
  • Preparing up to date account reports for Governance & Advocacy Sub Group and Overall Board, plus prepare annual accounts and present these at the Annual General Meeting.
  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company's financial affairs.
  • Forging partnerships with relevant agencies – including the Accountancy firm appointed to prepare the annual accounts.
  • Supporting the governance of SCS to ensure it is efficient, effective and fit-for-purpose.
  • Constructively challenge and help develop proposals on future strategy.
  • Act as a counter-signatory for payments and transactions.
  • Completing any additional projects as requested by the Chair.
