Sporting Memories – bringing communities together through sport

Sporting Memories – bringing communities together through sport

OVERVIEW:

Established in 2017, Sporting Memories Foundation Scotland is the first charity of its kind to be dedicated to the use of sports reminiscence, inclusive physical activity, and intergenerational projects to support isolated older people across the country. At weekly Sporting Memories clubs, we bring together older adults to reminisce and talk about sport with the aim of improving well-being, reducing loneliness and isolation, and building friendships. The participants who attend our online or community-based clubs may be isolated due to depression, dementia, or other long-term conditions. However, everyone has one thing in common: a love of talking about and remembering sport!
