Income Generation and Financial Sustainability:  Thursday 22 April 2021: 12 noon – 1pm

Follow Up Notes


This session focused on the topics of income generation and financial sustainability. The successes of some of our members were highlighted, in relation to generating income, developing more enterprising models of operation and supporting local community clubs to help improve sustainability. We heard from:

  • Stephen Sutton – Westquarter and Redding Cricket Club (WRCC) who talked about how WRCC have developed and diversified their income streams to become financially secure and sustainable.
  • Roy O’Kane – Kanzen Karate who talked about how Kanzen Karate has grown into a successful social enterprise, using their own premises and hiring space in several other facilities to deliver their activities.
  • Chris McKenna – ClubSport Stirling who shared the work of the local Sports Council in Stirling, highlighting the benefits to their membership and what support community clubs get – including grants, resource, training and more which ultimately contributes to improving financial sustainability.
