Over the last few years strong governance has been a key focus for the organisation.  Copies of curent policies can be downloaded and adapted by ClubSport networks and Sports Councils at any time, click on the Policies link on the right.


Scottish ClubSport (as SALSC) has a number of Governance achievments to highlight from 2018. 

They are:

SALSC was awarded the Foundation Level in the Equality Standard for Sport in March 2018.  This means our organisation met the 3 Outcome areas, these are:

  1. Your organisation demonstrates a clear commitment to equality.
  2. Your organisation has a policy for equality and this has been communicated - a copy of our equality policy can be downloaded here.
  3. Your organisation is aware of its current profile and position in terms of equality.

Equality Statement

SALSC is committed to ensuring that equality is incorporated across all aspects of its work and development. In doing so it acknowledges and adopts the following definition of sports equity:

  • Sports equality is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them

  • SALSC respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally and with respect within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, religious beliefs, sexuality or social/economic status

  • SALSC is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse

  • SALSC members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity

  • SALSC will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, taking disciplinary action if necessary

  • SALSC expects all its staff, volunteers, members and affiliated members to adopt our Equality statement


A Satisfactory award was made in the KPMG Development Audit in July 2018, the highest level available, SALSC are 1 of 17 out of 50 SGBs audited who hold this achievement.

Purpose of the KPMG Development Audit: sportscotland has engaged KPMG LLP (‘KPMG’) to conduct an assessment of governing bodies and national partners. The purpose of the development audit is to assist sportscotland in determining the extent to which governance arrangements are suitable to safeguard public investment and deliver outcomes. As part of the audit KPMG provide observations on certain fiduciary and reputational matters to assist sportscotland and make recommendations which are intended to support in continued development.
